March 2020: Scenes of train coupling at Da Nang Station and the train arriving at Hue Station. This used to be a common sight in Japan, but it’s become less frequent in recent years. Sleeper trains, almost extinct in Japan, are still very much in service in Vietnam. Of course, I don’t deny the advantages of high-speed rail, but I’m drawn to the charm of long-distance sleeper trains.
