This event, held in conjunction with the “Itoigawa Rough Seas Anglerfish Fair” from December to March, is a celebration of anglerfish.

Over three weeks, the event takes place at three venues, featuring impressive demonstrations of anglerfish cutting, the sale of anglerfish soup, and the sale of local specialty products.

On this day, I visited the Aomi venue (Oyashirazu Pier Park) on its final day. The weather, which I had been worried about, cleared up, and I enjoyed anglerfish soup under a blue sky. The venue was bustling, and many people were out on the beach searching for jade.
