Ga Phú Vinh

This video introduces the former Phu Vinh Station (Ga Phú Vinh) located near Nha Trang in central Vietnam. Built in 1913 during the French colonial era, it originally served as the terminus of the Saigon–Nha Trang railway line. After the opening of the current Nha Trang Station in 1936 closer to the city center, passenger operations were transferred, and Phu Vinh Station was repurposed for freight handling and railway maintenance activities.

The station building is a rare example of early French colonial railway architecture, featuring thick brick walls and a two-story structure with wooden elements. Over time, however, it fell into disuse and has since become heavily deteriorated, leading to ongoing discussions about preservation versus demolition due to its historical value and safety concerns.

Filmed in 2025, this video documents the station’s exterior and interior areas, including access to normally restricted sections through the cooperation of a local caretaker. It offers a rare glimpse into a disused station that represents an earlier chapter of Vietnam’s railway history, distinct from the modern Nha Trang Station still in operation today.
