I took the Echigo Tokimeki Railway local train departing Itoigawa Station at 11:22 AM to Echigo Oshiage Hisui Kaigan Station, enjoyed a leisurely meal, and then returned to Itoigawa on the local train departing Echigo Oshiage Hisui Kaigan Station at 12:55 PM. It felt like a real trip for only 380 yen round trip! (laughs) I always enjoy the delicious fish dishes at this restaurant, so this time I decided to try the fried shrimp. As expected from a restaurant directly run by fishermen, the shrimp were plump and juicy despite being fried. The cod collar stew and milt, and the fish soup, were all incredibly fresh with no fishy smell whatsoever. Although I traveled by train this time, there’s also a parking lot, so it’s convenient even if you’re driving. The restaurant offers free Wi-Fi and accepts major credit cards.
