110th Anniversary of Itoigawa Station Opening: D51 Steam Locomotive Comes to Itoigawa & Morning Aerial Views

On December 17th and 18th, 2022, the D51 steam locomotive owned by Echigo Tokimeki Railway made an appearance at the 110th anniversary event of Itoigawa Station. It had been 49 years since the whistle of a steam locomotive had sounded in Itoigawa, and the station was bustling with many railway enthusiasts and families. The event also featured a one-day stationmaster appearance by members of the Niigata-based idol group NGT48, a live performance by the Hyogo-based railway-themed music group Hanjuku BLOOD, and a sale of railway parts and goods by freelance model and railway idol Minori. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the live performance due to time constraints, but I will provide a brief overview below.
